    ... put so much pressure on them to do well. Hours of sports an hours of cram school a week just to stay level with everyone else. A normal student has a 12 hour day and the weekend is often a few hours more studying or playing sport too.

    What I love about this school is that when the students come into school at 8:15am many teachers come down to greet them. At my last school it was just me, though I still enjoyed it. But this school has teachers saying good morning, high ...

    ... classes you can only really get 90% of students to focus and actually do the work. But here they were loving it. The winning group who had the most castles in provinces were then classed as King of Japan. Within that group I then wrote a 'countdown conundrum' on the board. See if you can work it out:

    ... were all busy the whole time I was there. I was most intrigued by some of the packaging that people were handing over to be mailed. One lady handed them something in a paper department store bag which they taped down the top to and slapped a label on. The other lady handed them a plastic shopping bag which they put down in a clear bag and slapped a label on. I was mailing internationally so I opted for a more traditional mailing envelope.

    ... as well. At tutoring on Friday, the owner forced some indoor slippers on me because apparently my feet were going to get cold. I haven't worn slippers any other day I've gone there and I didn't really need to start now, but she really wouldn't let it go so I put them on. I made sure to show her that my heel hung off the edge because my feet were too big but that didn't seem to bother her and I was stuck with them.
