... to solve every problem that has existed throughout history. At times it gets hard being the only caucasian for miles and dealing with all the attention. My best friends are the village chiefs from around my area which use me as an inspirational speaker at local Baraza's (community meetings). At first it was very intimidating but now I really enjoy it and I think I can make a lasting impression on these peoples lives now the hard part is following through on expectations.
Garashi, Coast, Kenya mns9184... 30 other people to meet the bride who was sat hidden in a veil being fanned. The veil was lifted and a 15 minute ceremony took place in which they fed each other to symbolise providing for each other in the future.

We then went outside for a 3rd breakfast (This was about 11am) of pilau rice and mandaazi and to listen to more singing from the women - the song was apparently referring to how the women were bored and the groom should hurry ...

Malindi, Kenya journeykenya... a 50p tip, walked us all the way there and sat outside while we ate, hoping to walk us home again, but we said no thankyou we would get a tuk tuk. He asked for our address and telephone numbers, but I am ashamed to say I think I made a mistake with the odd digit in both!
Before the meal we saw a local football match and strolled along the white sand beach dodging scorpions.

Kilifi, Kenya vjgeminiWatamu I hugged my heavy pack on the Matatu, which cost all of 50 shillings (less than $1). I arrived in Watamu famished and headed straight for Mama Lucy's supermarket. It was filled with European delicacies serving the plethora of self-catering resorts in this popular coastal holiday destination. Unfortunately, the said European delicacies were ridiculously overpriced, so I was left salivating. I was escorted by a beach boy, through a maze of side street through ...
Kilifi, Kenya dcm... was still carrying too much, including food (coconuts). All my belongings, especially my clothes, were caked in good old African dust. The morning sickness arrived like clockwork, and 30 minutes later it disappeared, also like clockwork. The air conditioning in my room was faulty, and I slept with the windows open, resulting in loads of mosquitoes. Uri had explained to me that their method of evading mosquito bites was quite simple, live in a fridge. The ...
