What a Brilliant Holiday!

... Maybe the food is repetitive, maybe there is only entertainment every other night but overall this holiday was the best holiday me and my girlfriend have ever been on. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the one thing i dont recommend is flying with thomas cook... So please dont be put off by the bad reviews all the snobs have wrote because the holiday is what you make it and the hotel helped us make this holiday fantastic!

What a wonderful little peninsula on the Mediterranean. This town has it all. Lots of restaurants, bars, and shops, but also beaches and lots of ruins. Our room at the Hotel Lale Park was a little small, but we had a great time here.

... place. We ate there on an outsıde floating dining room. Fresh trout from the trout farm located there. We started with some wonderful bread that was flat, air filled and shaped like a large elongated frisbee. I would tear off a piece, fill it with butter and goat cheese and consume it. I think I ate an entire loaf myself. After lunch we went to the beach. There we swam in the Mediterranean Sea. An amazing experience. In the distance were ...

A long, tiring day of tourism

... Roman ruins and an equally large amount of touristy shops and restaurants. I didn't care much for the commercialism (although the bellydance outfits were a little bit better quality) but the ruins were awesome, and the only part I saw that charged admission (the Roman Theater) was 5 Turkish Lira. That's less than 4 dollars/3 Euros/2 Pounds. Compare that with 11 Euros a head to get into the ruins in Rome!

Antalya at last

... stopped for real, got onto buss and went to the terminal. For the last month, I've been getting email about airport transfers being available for only 25 Euros plus 18% VAT. Well, a bus to the center of town and a taxi to the hotel from there cost 10.64 Euros. So much for transfers. Arriving at the hotel, I noticed tram tracks right across the street, with a real cool retro-looking tram. (Okay, it probably IS old.) After ...

Sulcuk to Olympos

... open by the river. Ants and I chose the under the stars option and it was another relaxing evening playing with the puppies(tree house owners 4 fluffy wee things) and a couple of quiets after a scramble up the gorge. Yesterday was a drive day with only a short stop for lunch and a shop in Kos. We in Olympos now some more ruins and a relaxing day at the beach. Gotta fly so more latter Cy and Ants

Ýstanbul to Salcuk

Hi everyone - thıs blog wıll turn out funny as we're on a Turkısh keyboard. We arrived in Istanbul 28th Aprıl to spend a few days checking out the sites before heading off on our middle east tour. We stayed in the backpacker district in Sultanahmet which is pretty geared up for kiwis and aussies. The locals probably know more maori than the kiwis. Dıd a boat tour down the ...

An Easy Relaxing Do Nothing Kind Of Day

... into snug pensions, charming restaurants cum bistros slash cafes or even the ubiquitous carpet shops. The harbour is picture perfect panoramic. İf anything the weather was too good today - trust the İrish to find something to moan about - the cloudless sky made the bay too bloody blue - aquamarine water and azure sky is not the best of photo permutations - but it has inspired me to make definite enquiries about the 3day blue cruises (no - not some ...
