Life at the top,

Another hot day and loads of walking. So much to see but we have covered loads in our 2 days. We decided as we will see loads of beaches on the rest of our trip we would explore the Dubai City centre instead. Free shuttle bus from the hotel to another huge Mall. We had a late lunch where I lost my sushi virginity and I could use the chop sticks...just. Very tasty! We went up the world's tallest man made building, the Burj Khalifa, to watch the sunset. We took a one hour cab ride to Dubai and began two days of OOHS AND AHS accompanied with our guide and host extraordinaire, Man Cheung. Impressed with the view ...

... women for free. That one worked out pretty well for us. The drinks aren't cheap, but at least you get some happy sauce with your view.

We are out of here tomorrow, heading to Jordan. Dubai was a good intro to the middle east. It kind of reminded me of the last company I worked for. Lots of resources and potential in the hands of incapable and directionless management. As long as you're not at the bottom of the heap, life can be pretty good.
