... with Mum tonight as well so she's feeling a little happier. Then I went and had some Indian Fusion dinner and ate some fish! Those of you who know I normally avoid fish like the plague can now get back on your chair, I liked it! And with that bombshell, the first true day of my adventure ends! Early start tomorrow so I can get over to the business center of Dubai and look at all the pretty skyscrapers! Oh and dinner? Cost me £8! I love ...

Isn't it ironic ... The place I thought I would hate the most I loved!! I find it so fascinating and it is so easy to get dragged into the 'high life'. As soon as I got to Singapore I was waiting for people to hold open doors for me and was shocked by having to walk more than 20 metres. By the time I got to Australia, I was shocked to realise not all food tastes Ike gold and some foods can be actually pretty rank! Hello again ...

... but also for us who always need to eat - you just cannot buy anything nor eat it in public. (Unless you go to the supermarket)

We hung around the mall until it opened and I went and bought some 3/4 jeans so I could abide by the rules :-). After that we were pretty hungry from our early start so we went back to the hotel for lunch and get a snooze in before we got ready for our Sand dune safari.

... the dogs - gave me an excuse to walk at the dogs pace. Found an unusual looking bird - I think it was a woodpecker. Went to the Mall of the Emirates to shop. This is the Mall with the Ski Run in it. Watched every one having fun in -4 degrees and thought of poor Kyrra at home who would have loved it. Did some window shopping and all met up again at the Cheesecake Shop for lunch. Food photos are becoming the norm as amazing ...

... whilst your passport was scowled at. The unlucky ones had the full Iris, retina scans done and were made to stand in a number of poses until it was deemed satisfactory. maybe I shouldnt be so harsh, I wouldnt have wanted to have been there at 4.00 in the morning dealing with everyone.

In terms of Alien cultures to us, if Turkey was The Klingon Empire to Star Trek's Federation of Planets, this was Planet of The Apes.
