... ride. Debbie couldn't ignore her British genetic inclination to queue and was gazumped a few times by people barging in. Camel riding IS not for me. Firstly they do not look like they have breaks and the seat was very high and lastly, I am violently allergic to horses which may translate to camels as well. I reckon there should be rope tied to their testicles for an emergency handbrake.

... that you simply must do when you visit Dubai, that actually turns out to be a little underwhelming. I'm pleased to have done it, but I wouldn't rush to do it again. Watching it from the restaurant last might, with the water fountains going off, was much more impressive.

Still, we would only have been disappointed if we hadn't gone up it. We are tourists after all.

Well I had forgotten the things I love so much about Dubai - "The Heat" (40C) - "The Sweat" - "The Dust" - Yeah right as if you could forget!! On the plus side - "No flies", not surprising they couldn't get air borne in this heat - and? But what an amazing place!! The rate at which they are erecting buildings is incredible. ... that was pretty clever, especially since I didn't pick up on that during my last visit. I also didn't pick up on the fact that the malls exterior is shaped like each of the themes, which was pretty creative.

Yesterday we woke to a lovely hot day. We had a driver from the hotel drive us around some of the areas and sites of Dubai in the morning. The architecture of some of the buildings is really spectacular. We visited the old city with its gold and spice souks, beside the river docks with a large array of boats off loading all the goods imported into Dubai.
