This morning we awoke with a start. We were due to be picked up for a tour of Dubai at 9.45am. The alarm on my watch was set for 7.30am but obviously we had slept through it. It was 9.20am. Arrived at 5.30 am in Dubai and it was 35 degrees Celsius already. Jess lost her neck chain as we were walking through the security check. ... forecast in the mid 40’s. Going outside was like stepping into a furnace, but we only stayed one day in order to sort out a bus to Muscat in Oman. Ramadan is in full swing here, and people get fined if caught flouting the fasting regime in public. Found a good supermarket, and bought enough supplies to snack on in our room.
