Today is beach day, but before going to the beach we would visit a small town (old fisherman village) called Marzememi. first of all the trip that looked easy on the map turned out to be a long trip through forgotten streets in the middle of nowhere. Today we woke up early to get to Syracuse which is on the Eastern side of the Island. We left our little house early to end up in the middle of a traffic jam close to Syracuse. Despite the traffic we reached a parking spot close to the archeological park an dropped the car there. Temperature was rising already substantially. ... for the parking then, but the downside is that is deadly hot at that time. Modica is one of these towns like Ragusa where we have an old and a new part – all related to the same quake. Lots of churches, lots of stairs in the city, long walks up and down and damn difficult to get a nice picture of the nice things you see. ... to old. Both parts are baroc style.
To get from new to old you have to go down a number of stairs to get in that old piece of town – of course coming back you have to get up these stairs again. Exercise guaranteed.
It is a very nice view when you walk from one part to the other. Both ‘cities’ are glued to a mountain and look fabulous from the other part of the city. As usual a lot of churches and as usual very ...

We visited the nearby town of Noto.
If you aren’t into the 50 churches there or baroque architecture like we aren’t, then there isn't much to do.
The best part was the bouncy balls that the kids all bought and now keep them entertained everytime we go walking around towns.
