    ... which to run for our ride. Luckily, we made it.On sun-baked bus nap later and we found ourselves on the edge of town in Siracusa. Again, not near any bus terminal or signpost of any kind, and certainly not near the "convenient" shuttle bus that the tour books promised would be ready and waiting to whisk us away!     Met at the bus stop by my phone ringing. Roberto piled us all plus bags into his little merc, I was sitting on graham bag.
    Apartment lovely but quite a few step, 4th floor. Lucky Roberto carried jen n my bags. Fabulous balcony/roon top patio were we breakfast watching the rich n famous in their yachts.
    Only 28/30 here - cool.
    Walked to the parque archeologico. Huge greek/roman ruins in the middle of the new city.

    ... though.....

    We finally made it to Costanza and ordered straciatella for the girls, limone for Paolo and pistachio for me. It was DIVINE, but truthfully, the gelaterie in Scicli and Minori are just as good.....

    After lunch and a nap, we went to the beach from 5pm to 8pm...... Paolo and the girls played in the water for hours......

    Tomorrow we make the trek to Agrigento to visit Valle dei Templi...... Pray there is a Gelateria of some standing ...

What amazes me about Italians, and I've said it before, is how self-possessed they are and uncomfortable in their skins, especially when they are wearing little else.
