This is the day we were waiting for, the day all the preparation and acclimatization will be put to the test! A 1040m ascent, 1620m descent, 16km journey over one of the highest mountain passes in the world, Thorung La Pass at a whopping 5416masl. The standout complications of the pass are it's high elevation and quickly fluctuating weather conditions (snow, fog, wind).

Since we slept over at their house on the hill, we didn't get as early a start on the trek as we wanted. Kibeom decided last minute that he didn't want to do the trek anymore (he was headed to India and had to be back in San Fran by the end of August) so it was just German and I. We decided to take the bus from Besisahar to Bhulbhule to begin our treking!
