    ... the citizens in to shelter more quickly. It must have been grim and damp but offered safety at least. The grounds which now form Bute Park are magnificent and I enjoyed a fantastic Welsh cream tea in the former gatekeepers cottage. I also took in a bit of window shopping in all the covered arcades which are a real gem. And there were some fun nights out including a karaoke session where I won a bottle of wine. I never - and I mean never - do karaoke ...

    ... in a car rather than the coach because the gate was closed and everyone else except us and a young fellow returning home to Wales were the last to board. Sadly, our luggage didn't make it onto the plane with us.
