It then took me an hour walking around the town asking different people and having to go back to the vets to find the pharmacy to get the prescription - yes the pharmacy where we would get medicine for ourselves also sell the dog medicine - after 3 pharmacies I got it !!! ... I did not see any other public green space in the town. Taormina has an interesting past in terms of writers flocking to it in the 20th century as opposed to tourists today. The setting, a sweeping coastline with Mount Etna in the distance, is breath taking. I think D. H. Lawrence, a long time resident here, said it best, calling Taormina "the dawn-coast of Europe". The rooster might have crowed this morning and the train might have delivered 14 commuters somewhere but not for ears in our room at Borgo di Santa Barbara. So if you like off the map somewhat and entertaining pizza chefs this is the place for you...and a mere €80. Mind you must admit Lois heard the kids playing until midnight (local party at the restaurant), the rooster and the train...so maybe you ...
... we had a great evening meal in a typically Sicilian restaurant and were serenaded by some musicians while we ate. Taormina is a beautiful hillside town with a history dating back to Ancient Greece with Roman , Carthaganeans, Arabs, Normans to name a few and all have had an influence on the architecture and buildings.
