Nous avons pris l'autobus publique pour atteindre le sommet du vesus, le volcan n'a pas tellement a offrir, mais la vue sur la bay est vraiment belle. Ensuite, nous avons visités les ruines d'Herculaneom. Une autre ville disparue sous l'eruption du vesus il y a pres de 2000 ans. il y a encore beaucoup de travail d'archeologie en cours, mais on peut voir que la ville est meiux conserver, il y a meme des batiments de 2 et 3 etages et des pieces de bois qui ont traversé le temps !

apres toutes ces belles villes d'italie, voici naples: l'afreuse! On pourrait aussi dire bienvenue a Verdun en Italie! Ici, la ville est sale, les ruessont ornés d'une grande quantité de déchest et aussi bondées de vendeur itinérants qui fuient des que les patrouilles d'immigrations arrivent!

on quitte orvieto pour se rendre a
naples. Le train a 30 min de retard et une fois monter a bord, le
retard s'accumule. On a passer la journee dans le train et on est
arrive a naples avec plus d'une heures de retard. Ce n'est pas
tellement grave, il a plue presque tout la journee. Enfin a notre

Sunday caught the train out to Pompei which was ginormous!

... 6 or 7 music stores in 1 block- one of which had guitars, lutes and other stringed instruments dating back to the late 1800's.


Also discovered that the food options in Naples are a lot better than northern Italy with a lot more meat based snacks and fried snacks available to eat whilst wandering the streets.
No wonder northern Italians are so skinny and short - their food options for decent snacks are so limited compared to the south ...

I locked myself in the bathroom tonight. I didn't mean to. But I knew something like that would happen. That tiny, but oh so necessary, room has something against me. For two days now, every time I have cleared my system it wouldn't go down. The TP and the yellow, but not the big clump that no one will miss. Oh no, I flush two or tree times, but it always stays. Ciao! We woke up this morning, very early again, and took off for the Vatican, to try and catch a glimpse of the Pope. We heard he was giving a mass, and if we got there soon enough we could get a place to watch it as well. Well, we arrived around 830am because we were delayed at the rail station trying to find a place to put our bags. We couldn't get inside the square because it was blocked off, so we stood behind a gate and waited for two hours ...
