This is the capital of Sardinia which is an Italian Island south west of the 'heal' of Italy. Marcelo and I decided to walk around the city as we had all day 10am to 5pm. I have to say I wasn’t that impressed with the city. It had some interesting sites but it seemed very run down. A lot of litter on the streets and a lot of graffiti. ... the sights of Cagliari and had some down time, so I just sat in the sun and had one of Italy's favourite cocktails, the Americano. It was originally called the Milano-Torino as it was invented up north in the 1860's and contains spirits from those regions - Cinzano and Bitters, with soda. It was dark orange like an Blood Orange, and delicious in the heat on Bastione San Remy.

It had been a while since we had done the city exploring thing so we headed for a marina in Cagliari. Friends on board "Matador" had stopped here and the price was right so after another rolling night we elected to tie up.

We left Tripani, Sicily early on the morning of 27 July and after a couple of hours motoring in calm conditions the wind filled in from the south and we were off to Sardinia. Twentyfive hours of sailing later we arrived onto the south east coast of Sardinia and anchored in a large bay off a beautiful sandy beach.
