Six Month Anniversary Edition: Then vs. Now
... back to land life.
7. I cook in a wider variety than I ever did on land... and without an oven! Not having an oven (or any electric kitchen tools, like a mixer, crock pot, toaster, etc.) has forced me to get pretty creative in order to satisfy some cravings, namely baked goods and sweets. But with just my three-burner propane stove, I've learned how to make fluffy french bread, pizza, calzones, corn bread, biscuits, casserole, cake, and a few other ...
Dominikanska republiken
I had made the arrangements for the transportation with the hotel and told them we had 4 people and a lot of luggage but the van had one of those natural gas tanks in the back ...
Into Panama and night in Boca Chica
... I left the bikes up on the Panamanian side of the border and so the handler tells me that the walk back through the crowd and bringing the bike back to be inspected would be a waste of time - as long as we are not coming back into Costa Rica soon with the bikes there wont be any problem. He's right - we get Panamanian road use permits, tourist visas and fumigation stamps, and the cost is about $30 for everything. This time its so easy ...
