    ... several restaurants throughout Portugal. Though it is widely offered on the menu, we were the only people we saw, actually ordering sushi. The rest of the people in the restaurant had Japanese fondu, Kobe steak, and tempura. Coming from California, we are used to having both fresh fish and creative sushi.     After heeding the suggestion of a British-born owner of a gift shop in Praia de Luz, yesterday we headed for the hills, or the Serra de Monchique to be precise in order to find the alternative Portugal. Once off the initial bit of motorway, the road meandered uphill through pine and eucalyptus clad hills before turning in a westerly direction south of Monchique itself.     ... atmosphere put me in mind of Stonehenge and the summer solstice, not that I have personally been, with everyone peering out to sea as the golden 'orb' gradually dropped over the edge of the sea.     ... As we entered the very narrow entrance the gennaker started to unfurl again and so we decided to drop it. As we did a gust came and the sail went back into the sea. Dawson managed to manoevre the boat without hitting anything as we hurled the anaconda, as we have christened her, back onto the deck.

    On on one hand I am sorry it's finished but then I am really looking forward to coming home, if only for a short while.
