So,
Went to the masaya markets, makes you really wonder why Canadian Health organizations are so anal retentive about sanitary practices. There are pieces of meat, sitting in blazing heat, with flies all over them, everywhere. You can also buy half dead chickens, vegetarians must just be ******. Started my spanish classes as well. Fun Fact: the word Papaya in Cuba, means vagina... could get very confusing if you happen to be ...
... to get on the bus, but we were parked on the side of the street in a town of maybe 200 people. C'mon, like seriously. Then we got to Mombacho, and walked up to the tour booth in order to pay for our hike. So, because we are keeners, all three of us agreed that we should just walk up to the top on the road rather than pay the extra ten dollars to take the shuttle. The guys who worked there must have just been thinking "****ing gringos." We walked 1000m up in ...
Grenada, Nicaragua, Grenada rpalkovsky... was a favourite with the new ‘jet set’. The Calabash is built in a crescent shape overlooking extensive lawns and a number a palm trees down to the beach and Caribbean Sea, the rooms are well appointed suites, many with ...
Grenada, Grenada paulatluxury... poorly stocked (it lacked even condiments). If a request for something was made, someone would have to drive it from room service, just in time to watch everyone else moving on from their entrees to dessert.

... pool which gives you unspoilt views over the island, surrounding islands and the ocean ahead. Sea fish is definately the dish of the day in Grenada, fresh every day to the array of local restaurants, there is always something new to try and the local delicacy are sublime. One restaurant we visited during our stay was Red Crab, very popular with the locals and visitors alike. It is a friendly place serving good home cooked meals in a great setting with views of the hills on ...
Grenada, Grenada relaxinterSo today was to be the sailing Catamaran and beach party day.....or so we thought! The materials have been updated (have to think we had something to do with that..), however, Princess listed their "Party Cruise & Beach" excursion on a Catmaran. I even called Princes to make sure it was a Sailing Catamaran with nets, etc....So, we got on to the bus that took us over to an area where ...
Grenada, Grenada audaciousredA very, very hot day in Grenada (high 80's / high 20's). When it showers, it feels very warm and almost dries instantly to your skin (very refreshing). We did some brief shopping today (Spice Islands). Ready to head sail to Bonaire (near South America) for tonight and tomorrow. One more port to go before sailing back to the USA, where we stop in Aruba on Wednesday (big shopping day).
St George, Grenada terry.liske... that the van's brakes were changed every 3 months. Good stuff!
As we approached our first stop being the Annandale Falls, beautiful black women could be seen with their colourful fruit baskets on top of their heads up the road. We got out of the van and proceeded to walk in their directions while enjoying the surroundings. They greeted us with open arms and a few laughs were exchanged. They were quite pleasant ...
... green line was empty. I went over to ask what we needed to declare. The Customs officer told me that we need to declare anything over EC $200 (Eastern Caribbean Dollars, which comes out to about $75 US - no way my conscience could live with that.) I told the man that my machine cost about $300 US (even though it was more, my conscience was fine), and we went back to the red "you need to pay" section at the end of the line behind all the students ...
Prickly Bay, Grenada questmiller... terribly amusing. About four other boats in anchorage. Went ashore in dinghy. Beach set up for large parties: many deck chairs, all stacked, large buffet table, stone gazebo, restrooms, bar, cooking facility. Speculated that it must be for a cruise ship. Paul, Sue and I walked up hill to village. Spectacular view of anchorage. Lovely sunset.
