... though it is winter, the sunshine was warm and out of the wind, hot enough to take off a layer of clothing. But, as it has been cold and grey over the past few days, we took a drive up the coast. We thought that we might find another quaint little town, something of interest, but no. As it is still low season, the coast was full of closed shops and closed resorts which made the towns look very sad.

We drove 40km to ...

... drive (Andrew did an amazing job though!) and after a short rest, walked the 200 metres to the port. We sat with the cool people (Andrew's tracky daks getting only a few stares!) and had a coffee called a Freddo Cappuccino. Fabulous.

I went to Crete in 2011. We lived in an old white house about 20 minutes outside Chania. While there we rented a car and drove all over the island. I saw the most beautiful beach and we had lovely food and company. The smell of thyme and olives that you just get in Greece is also the most amazing smell. I don't know what else to write other than that i fell in love with Crete as well as i have fallen in love with the rest of Greece.

I got some pictures as well.
