... After that we started climbing, as Jiuzhaigou is at 2000m altitude – we followed the river which was flowing quickly downhill, so I guess we must have been climbing quite fast. ... national park was fantastic as the pictures will show but I was wrong (that doesn't happen very often) there was 15000 Chinese tourists there today & we had to compete with every one of them. When you get to the entrance you take a bus to the top & work your way down through lakes & waterfalls.
Plenty of walking but you can take a bus when you get tied.

In the park there are 9 small Tibetan villages with locals who lived there before this valley became a national park. So they still live here and this were the people who picked us up with hitch hiking.
