... was a wonderful reprieve from the city, and reminded us a bit of Stanley Park. Minus the giant "Mao's Head" (see photo). It really is giant.

Being able to continue spending more time with team members we knew from our Hengyang trip was super awesome too. My new BFF, Paige, even made a last minute decision to join us in Changsha on the weekend just to spend more time with us and see a different city.

After much deliberation we decide to get the train from Guilin to Changsha, so that we could visit Wulingyuan National Park. After the usual combination of google translate, charades and Chinese accents akin to the policemans French accent in Allo Allo we managed to purchase two tickets. Ok it was from Changsha north, but no biggie we would leave a bit earlier, say 6am, no 5.30 as advised by ...

I will sign off and go eat my abnormally large, Chinese version of cup of noodles, that entirely is too spicy,(and surely isn't vegetarian, but how would I know? I dont read chinese) before this one blog turns into a novel.

Vandaag worden we opgehaald door onze school. Mijn kamergenoot, een Amerikaan genaamd Jan, is al vertrokken. Met degene die later vertrekken, zal ik eerst nog lunchen, waarna ook wij op weg gaan. Huaihua is meer dan 5 uur met de bus/auto. Max, een Russische jongen die vanaf zijn 9e in Engeland woont, is ook in mijn school geplaatst. De derde leraar van onze school schijnt al in Huaihua te zijn. Ondanks de warmte en alles wat me te wachten staat, voel ik me redelijk bestand. ...
