Lots of vendors, beach camping, sand concerts, free Chinese plays, a million light up ring toss games, plenty of couples, squid on a stick, inflatable hamster balls people played in while in the ocean, some fireworks, a couple paper lanterns, and plenty of laughs later, we came back to our rooms with smiles on our faces and oh so many new memories.

My first destination in real China was YongDing to look at the ancient Tulou houses of the Hakka people.

It took my about 8 hours by train to get there, and as I was unfamiliar with the train system, I ended up with a "standing ticket," which is exactly what it sounds like. Standing. 8 hours. "Bring it on," I thought, until of course 3 hours passed by and I realized it was going to be a very long night.
