I'm sure I've mentioned before how busy this semester has been for me, but it's quickly coming to an end. I only have two more weeks of classes before I'll be giving final exams. I have almost 400 students and most of them ...

... beer and played more cards :-) but generally just chilled out around the town! Oh but not before buying ourselves some duck! We walked past a hole in the wall the previous day and the smell was delicious and the queue confirmed it must be! People were stood forever tho, it was an extremely slow moving queue so thought for people to queue for so long it must be pretty good! We joined the back of it where a guy ...

... kata (Judo sequences). The day before I spent an hour or so translating relevant Judo terms into Chinese. Body parts and stuff are easy, but Japanese terms such as seiryoku (maximum efficiency) and kata are more difficult. I spent some time trying to figure out whether the coaches know any kata. I show them a few throws from nagenokata. They knew the techniques, but they either don't know what kata is or just don't practice it. I wish I had the words both in English and ...
