... antibiotics in the IV as well. So we went in to the local hospital and Elise got her IV fluids in the "infusion room" along with about 100 other people. It was a lot like getting IV in a bus station. She completed her treatment in 1-1/2 hours and they sent us home. She had 2 days of IV and seemed to be on the mend. She stopped throwing up and seemed to be feeling better. So the doctor gave us the go ahead to leave town. It ...
Qingtian, Zhejiang, China paulfeuerborn... and questions for us, as we’ve walked through the big cities. Everyone there asked us, "Are all these kids yours?" “You have 4 children?!” “These are 4 children from one family?!” along with comments like, “Oh, we’re not allowed to have more than one here. What country are you from? Do they allow you to have that many children?” In China ...

They don’t really set off firecrackers for the Moon Festival, it was just his excuse to get them for the kids. (They set them off at New Year’s in February.) It’s against the law to set them off in the downtown area, but since my relatives live outside of town, it’s ok there as long as they let the ...
Qingtian, Zhejiang, China paulfeuerbornMy mom's relatives (first cousins and their families) were so 'keqi’, generous and kind. They invited us over for lunch and dinner, cooking fabulous 17 course meals! We got to see my greatgrandfather’s house (where my grandfather grew up, and my mom came to visit when she was a child). The house is outside of Qingtian city about 10-15 minutes ...

Many people from Qingtian have been moving overseas, starting businesses, and mailing money back to their families, so we’ve found this "small city" to be relatively cosmopolitan! There are many overseas Qingtian people living mostly in Europe. We’ve heard people speaking fluent Spanish, French and German here. Actually very few go to America, so we haven’t heard any English!
Qingtian, Zhejiang, China paulfeuerbornOn Sept. 4 China has "Teacher's Day" where students bring in cards and stuff to their teachers. My big question is why we have to work on Teacher's Day but meh, it's cute. There was a little party after work for the English teachers and they gave the four of us at our school some presents and cards and we played games.
I got lucky and I get to stay in my own classroom, which is nice, considering my schedule is really ...
... that looked like it was from Happy Feet. Two steps later I realized it was missing an arm, so I ran back and took the first thing that wasn`t broken and was relatively clean which happened to be a monkey (w0ot!)
There was a many following us around the park and trying to get his kid to say `hello` to us. The kid was not amused.

Lin Hai, China zackrude... the hotel as well.
My room had a king size bed (positioned really nicely in the room) a big flat-screen TV, huge bathroom with shower and bathtub and all toiletries (including bubble bath and exfoliating mitt!) included. I had a bubble bath in the huge bathtub and listened to relaxing music through the built-in music system... it was sooooo relaxing.
I'm not sure where abouts the hotel is ...
I've landed at Shanghai ... and managed to get through customs with my MASSIVE excess of spirits and cigarettes (the ciggies are presents). A friend told me tonight that he landed at Shanghai and got two bottles of wine confiscated ... well ... I went through with three 1-litre bottles of spirits and two cartons of cigarettes (ya gotta love duty free!!!). The girl at the counter asked me what i had to declare ... i told her what i had (as i had ...
