    ... churches, and hospitals, turning the island into a common concession. The buildings are beautiful, and a large quantity of them have been well maintained. Narrow lanes, tropical trees and a warm climate mean lazy days wandering. The first day we were disappointed in the murkiness of the water at the little beaches, but this is China, and all waters here are polluted.     ... here was quite pretty, lots of light on all the buildings and along the harbour, many ships here as Xiamen is a major shipping port between Taiwan an Xiamem.
    A lot of the Aussies did the same shore excursion as ours so we all experienced abit of cultural and the beaches and the shops.
    Dinner was not far away, as we didn't have any lunch so we getting a little bit peckish, don't know how but you have to have some food with alcohol!! Tonight was again ...

    Had a lazy day today staying around the Hotel Indigo. We walked down Zhongshan Lu and had lunch at Aijsen Ramen, one of our favourite Japanese restaurant chains. We then wandered back to the hotel and had afternoon tea sitting up in the restaurant area overlooking the harbour and Gulangyu Island, unfortunately not warm or nice enough to sit outside.
