... low key and people were packing up. We did see a talking parrot though, so not a completely wasted trip! We walked back south towards Temple market, which was pretty big and heaving with people. There was all sorts of stuff being sold there; electrical goods, clothes, jewellery, sunglasses, souvenirs, artwork and random tat. Kim wanted some sunglasses, but couldn't find any she liked and I had the same problem with shorts. We had a nice evening wandering round it ...

... of waiting in line I knew I'd made a big mistake. The Subway was all but frozen, choked with passengers. I asked a few people if it was normal and they replied "Yes, but never this bad". Fan-bloody-tastic... I'd managed to pick the single worse day ever to use the subway. I tried to beg, borrow or steal a phone from someone else to call Lei with - but all of our communication had been via internet, not phone. We had not shared phone numbers yet!

... to the fog! Instead we managed to find a fire exit out of the building which led us to the incredible scenery outside. This then led us on a lovely walk through the forests with the hong skyline as our view. (Later we even found a viewing tower for free! And decided our first decision was right as the fog meant limited views). After an afternoon of rest we spent the evening back at the avenue of stars for the famous light show. However ...

... down the road, it was full of mostly locals and had a great ambience, we were felt to feel most welcome, the food was very authentic and very reasonably priced, oh, and the Peroni and Chianti were splendid, we've never had a table set for us in one of the doorways of a restaurant before!
