... don't like the food much either (this happened in multiple classes). I wrote a few activities on the board and had the kids stand if they liked them, or sit if they didn't. I had one especially rowdy bunch that had a few boys who would yell "huh" and strike a pose every time they liked something. It was actually pretty funny. Speaking of lunch, one day, I was eating rice perfectly fine with chopsticks (or so I thought) when one of the cafeteria ladies came up ...

... a Chinese woman sing someone toward the end. I guess it says "class is starting/ending" or something. The kids are so nice, and I feel like they are genuinely excited to see me everyday. They say hello and goodbye to me a thousand times before class starts and ends. After I've already had them in class once, they greet me in the hallway, too. ... check the rating on it in Canadian standards but there were scenes that were sexually explicit, extreme violence, and profanity used every few words. The afternoon movie was only in Chinese, with no subtitles, and didn't seem remotely interesting as I watched a few minutes of it. ... is a very nice "small" city (ie only 3 million people in the metro area!), with plentiful good restaurants, parks, and local attractions. One highlight was a 10 pm foot reflexology massage with Jin's aunt and uncle - this was the real Chinese style, so they don't go easy on you!

Overall we had a really nice time in Jingmen and appreciated the break from our hectic travel schedule. I hope you like the photos!

... 65 km outside the city. We haggled a price, and off we went. Maybe there are tourist busses going up there usually, we couldn't tell. Still, the price seemed reasonable, as long as you don't feel like you're being scammed.
