... Why didn't they tape her dress? haha.

I was given a Chinese name! It is 舒音 (Shū yīn, I was told it's the characters for comfortable and music). The first speaking class was an hour long, and I "learned" how to say "Where are you going?" and how to answer with a few places. However, without looking, I only remember how to say 2 of them. Yeah, I'll be fluent in no time! (_) They took pictures of us for their school's ...

This was a day which never ended!

It was Martin’s 70th so we congratulated him and then got
off the boat and headed for the Chongquing Zoo by coach to see the famous
Pandas which didn’t disappoint. There were many small enclosures each with a

... check the rating on it in Canadian standards but there were scenes that were sexually explicit, extreme violence, and profanity used every few words. The afternoon movie was only in Chinese, with no subtitles, and didn't seem remotely interesting as I watched a few minutes of it. Well for those who deem I never take time to relax, I had no choice but to do so as there really was put much else to do on the ...

... is a very nice "small" city (ie only 3 million people in the metro area!), with plentiful good restaurants, parks, and local attractions. One highlight was a 10 pm foot reflexology massage with Jin's aunt and uncle - this was the real Chinese style, so they don't go easy on you!

Overall we had a really nice time in Jingmen and appreciated the break from our hectic travel schedule. I hope you like the photos!

          ... don't match the scale...

Today, we checked out of our chilly hostel, leaving our bags to take a little trip to a local Ming tomb, the Ming Xianling. The weather had improved greatly, so it was nice to just stroll about the area, which was not very exciting. According to Jules, if you have visited one Ming tomb, you don't have to fuss about seeing another one. What was interesting about this one was that a lot of the original ...
