    ... maybe, but I want to give this location it's due. Like many tourists, I often think, what is this place like?

    At times it reminds of the Smokies in North Carolina with their thick rhododendron understory, small communities in the Berkshires of New England, or creeks going into the Buffalo River in Arkansas. Gradually I've learned that the bamboo is indeed a unique plant that has made this forest a treasure.

    Wish we had more than parts of three days here, but we've had a great time exploring an historic culinary & natural landscape. While back in Mianyang, Chen got word his friend Chichi has been able to get time off from work and will join us.     Auntie Rachel and I had a day to explore in the big city of Shanghai.

    After breakfast we walked along the shopping street to go to place called People's Square. The shopping street looks much different during the day.     After dinner I had to try to pack once again to accomodate all the wonderful gifts given to me. It was rather difficult. I'm hoping that my experience in packing will help me to avoid extra charges tomorrow. It was a bit difficult to zip my suitcases...

    I am very sad to leave Nanxi, but am anxious for the adventure that awaits me in Shanghai.

The teacher incorporated many pictures and games to make the learning interesting for the students. The students were also very engaged in the lesson.
