... pagodas, pavilions, and even some hot springs close to the top. We took a tram (a la Disney) from the metro to a spot close to Sun Yat Sen's mausoleum. Unfortunately it was closed for some unknown reason but it was still a beautiful building in a wooded area. There were pine trees and even some trees with fall foliage. Our two days in Nanjing thankfully have surpassed expectations. Nanjing is a clean, calm and picturesque modern city. Arriving on a Sunday afternoon we were amazed that the freeway from the airport was relatively free of cars.

It was nice to be met at the airport and ushered onto a bus. With only 6 of us to be collected luggage collection wasn't so onerous. The Novotel Central is what you would expect of a high end hotel but I suspect that things ...
