    Chinese New Year in Hong Kong!!!!

    ... it was full of incense - mostly in coils and we sensibly visited that prior to New Years as there were huge lines of people after. Having said that, visiting the giant golden Buddah just after NY's day was not a clever idea.....we never made it.

    There was obviously a lot of shopping, but disappointingly the prices were pretty much the same as a regular high street even with no sales tax. Still, we filled up on what we needed and ticked most items ...

    ... eating local food was eating with chopsticks. OhhhMyGod did it make me huff and puff! I'm hoping I lost a couple of kilos after being full on a couple of bites because it took me so long to get anything on my chopsticks that I just gave up and wasn't hungry anymore (I should try that out everyday if it has worked). This is why I got so frustrated with my hot pot, the udon noodles kept slipping away! �� I think one of my best evenings was ...

    ... people are in the city.

    We then headed to Sam's, the most famous tailor in Hong Kong, for some shirts for Milt. Sam has made suits and shirts for Michael Jackson, Clinton, Nelson Mandela and other celebrities. The whole experience was fascinating. They have a ton of fabrics and the were able to get Milt's 3 shirts custom made in 6 hours. They look great!

    ... in the north district and meandered back down along Nathan Road to catch the return ferry to Hong Kong island.

    One evening we crossed back to Kowloon in order to photograph the Hong Kong Island skyline at night. Each evening there is a light and sound show which attracts lots of people, so we had to find a spot early. We took plenty of photographs and once the light show was over we headed back to the ferry.

    ... items do not do anything for me. The we went up the Central–Mid-Levels escalator and walkway system which is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. The entire system covers over 800 m.... But once you get to the top, you have got to walk down the stairs as the escalator only goes up! Another day well ...
