One of the reasons for this trip was to visit the Water Resources Institute of Jiangxi. A delegation came to visit the Toowoomba campus earlier this year, on the basis of trying to find a partner institute in Australia to work with. ... got to see quite a bit of Nanchang which was delightful - we got to see the Palace in the City, one of the first built 'wheels' - is larger than the London Eye, and settled in for a night cruise - which was an amazing light show on all the city buildings. The light show was a story of the 'Red Army' which was founded in the Jiangxi province. It was simply spectacular, as every riverside building was lit up and the story was reflected on both sides of the river.

We wandered around the three villages and checked off all five sites that were included in my ticket, which included a small museum of farming implements, a couple mansions and a dismantled watch tower.
