We went to Thousand-Buddha Hill (Qianfoshan) today. Many steps to climb to see several temples, including the huge Xingguochan Temple, the beautiful Maitreya Buddha and the lying Buddha with a Swastika on his chest, and a cave of 130 buddha statues.

We later found out that there is also Thousand Buddha Cliff which is a different place, 35 km away from Jinan with more Buddhas carved along a 35m wall.

We then went to Yinhuchi Jie (Muslim Food Street).

We booked a driver for 650yuan to take us on the 2 hour journey out to Mount Tai. This is a UNESCO world Heritage site and is one of five sacred mountains in China for thousands of years. There are 22 temples dotted around the mountain, and several hundred steps to climb to the summit. We got a bus halfway and then got a cable car, but still climbed steps up to the temples at the summit. As we arrived the summit was covered in fog ...

Will and I arrived in Jinan for Qing Ming (Tomb Sweeping) weekend break. We went to the Park which is where the Baotu Spring originates and had a wander around. It was quite cold and polluted, unlike Ningbo yesterday when it had been very warm and sunny.

Had a pizza in a lovely German restaurant by the river.

... to Tai'an was two hours, I had hoped to stay awake and take in the sights, but I ended up sleeping through most of it. I was so tired for the night before and today we would be climbing Mount Tai Shan, and decided I would need my energy for that instead. Once we arrived at Tai'an we got a funny little three wheel car to our hotel, the Ramada. I couldn't get over the deal Darryl had got, our rooms were 45$Cad and they were beautiful just like what you would get back ...

Dear family and friends,

I may have a window to write in this blog. I am in the hallway at Beijing Royal High School in Beijing. This is the best place for WIFI access and there are kids lining the wall trying to chat with friends and family. I may get kicked off but I will try to at least write.

We spent our last night in Shandong and got up early, at 5:45 am to catch a bullet ...
