... this area so friendly. Families were all speaking to us and getting their children to say "hello'. We met a lovely old lady on the bridge in Changsha who told me I was beautiful and desperately wanted to have her photo taken with us. This is an area where they see many Chinese tourists, but very few foreigner tourists.
A really fantastic day, and definitely the highlight of our holiday for me!

We then went to find an Indian Restaurant. Unfortunately the one the Westin Hotel Conciage recommended was closed for the Spring Festival, but we were directed to another one, Taste of India, which was excellent, wonderful samosas and succulent chicken korma and chicken tikka.
After we disembarked from the night train we checked into the Westin and then made our way to Yuexiu Hill to visit Sun Yat Sen Monument and the Ming Dynasty Zhenhai Tower (Guangzhou Museum).
We then caught a taxi to Shamien Island, a lovely restored area of Guangzhou, full of colonial buildings, wide avenues and street scene ...
... Not that we understand how or why things are done, but we just shrug our shoulders and say, "That’s life in China." We had another bad spell with our Internet service and had 2 service men to our apartment. Fingers crossed; it’s working better now, but that could chance in a minute!
