Taiwan has thus far been an incredible experience. The
change in scenery and temperatures has been refreshing and we are finally
feeling like we are on vacation. We spent the weekend in the mountains in the
Hot Springs- the ultimate relaxation. We piled two cars full of Westerners and

... hours and the arrival was out by one minute after a delay up the line not bad as we made up time.

Not sure why I chose Taichung and not somewhere further south but TaiKong is a nickname I have heard used for it and I can understand that. This place is huge and everything appears compact whereas Taipei has a newer feel to to it Taichung looks and has retained at lot of the old amongst the new.

... one is really sure why, but it was a huge deal here. We had fun seeing all of the Taiwanese people dressing crazy. Because we weren't really sure of the details, we waited around for a while and decided to catch a cab home early because we were all tired from the busy week and wanted to start our first day of teaching the next day without a hitch. We didn't end up seeing Gaga, but the crowds were enough entertainment for me.

So after realizing that we are living in a big city, to me it seems like New York, I got to escape to the most beautiful place I have seen in a while. Seven of the teachers pilled in Kelli's car and headed to the mountains where we went to a local waterfall. It must not have been that secretive though because there were like 7 big brown signs on how to get to it... when in reaility they needed like 2 signs :) So anyways ...
