... 100 Yuan which is $NZ20. Originally our hosts were going to organise meals for us each day but the logistics of that were difficult and the decision was made to leave us to our own devices. However, today is slightly different. We have been told that Nanchang food is significantly hotter than food in other areas of China and finding cuisine that agreed with our stomachs would be difficult if we were to walk into any random restaurant. Winter pants, shirt and thermals, the whole lot covered and another four days lost!
So why did I spend two weeks in Nanchang?

I’ve just arrived at my hotel room from another deliciously snacky stroll around Nanchang’s inner shopping/snack streets and alleys. Tonight, eighteen ...

Chinese airlines have a penchant for direct flights with stopovers. I am not sure why this is, but it certainly annoys me--in 2013, one flight number should mean a nonstop flight. Airplanes no longer need to refuel as much as they used to. Our flight was delayed for a million hours yesterday, but we were still able to make it to Nanchang and catch an airport bus into ...
