... don't go to Wangfujing because it's too expensive). When I came outside it was getting dark and the neon lights on the fronts of the buildings were beginning to flash, all the colours of the rainbow. I checked my map and decided that whichever way I was facing, the subway wasn't too far.
I headed towards a little souvenir shop, hoping to get a Chinese flag for my collection, and dodging out of the way of a man taking a photo with a nokia 5800, like mine. The shop ...
... till she thought she had fenced in his resting-placestrongly enough. The difficult task had employed her the wholenight; and as the sun broke forth, there stood the beautiful Helgain all her loveliness, with her bleeding hands, and, for the firsttime, with tears on her maiden cheeks. It was, in this transformation,as if two natures were striving together within her; her whole frametrembled, and she looked around her as if she had just awoke from ...
Beijing, Beijing, China capitalism... but I felt it would be best to eat some Chinese food; since mom was in China and all. The manager ended up approaching our table because we were speaking English and helped us to order what we wanted from the troubled waitress. We ended up chatting with her for a while (which is not that surprising, noting I was with my mother) and got the woman's whole life story. She was born in Hong Kong but grew up in Vancouver and moved to Beijing ...

I really do enjoy teaching but I think that it would be much more fun if I could teach something I was really interested in- something other than English. Oh and a note for you Mom- I¡¯ve been unable to sleep numerous times because I am thinking of lesson plans or how to get my students to understand concepts! Ekkkkkk!!!
Beijing, China billiechristine... reforms that have produced China's vibrant cities, its new prosperity and new freedoms, only started 30 years ago in 1978. We still have a long way to go. But covering China with nothing but shame is not going to help us get there. As we Chinese say, you don't make a seedling grow faster by pulling it up and stretching it. We can expect more demonstrations in Beijing during the games, especially with the kind of encouragement given by the western press. The Chinese government would ...
Beijing, China happysheepWe flew out of Tokyo after our stay in Nagano. On our last day in Japan we went to an onsen (natural hot spring) which was fun. We arrived in Shanghai ready to hop on the 400kmph Maglev train which would race us to the city centre. Unfortunately we found the maglev entrance doors locked up and we had to get an overcrowded bus to downtown Shanghai. We were greeted by insistent touts who wouldn't take no for an answer and an army of homeless people ...

Yeah, that's right...US Direct TV satellite programming to my humble little laptop in Beijing. I have two set up...one in Pittsburgh (which often doesn't work) and one at my brother's house in California (mostly always does). Although the time difference is great, I still can watch anything that's on in the states in China...incredible. Which leads me to ...
Beijing, China mulzey... able to show them the plant products in question. Next, we were unceremoniously ushered off the train to go through passport control in the Erlian station. There were four or five immigration agent stations, and as typical for me, Ho-Ki and I chose the slow line. The neighboring agent processed two people for every one our agent did, however, we did receive a smile and a thank you from our agent. According to Lonely Planet's Trans-Siberian Railway ...
Beijing, China chop49This Sunday in May was my final organised day of the tour of China, and with it came a conquest - The Great Wall of China. This is one of those places that I never believed I would ever get to, yet here I was, only a few hours away from conquering it! I was extremely excited. Our tour guide Anson, in his wisdom of China, got us up at the crack of dawn to jump on a bus for two and half hours to take us to our location. The section of The ...
Simatai, China stevea... is an upside down needle- like building, and the Bund , now, seen from the other side of the river, with its background of high rises. Michael, our guide, took us to the Shanghai museum, of which the Chinese are justly proud. There is an especially impressive collection of Minority groups' clothing from all over China, including silver jewellry, all hand made of course, in the country districts. China is well known, needless to say, for its fine porcelain and ...
