Didn't do much today, we got picked up by one of Jen's cousins and went to the Nanning Zoo. Well what a disappointment, the big cats were in small in closures rill of mud and no green rass at all, it was discussing. The ones that were not in there they were in concrete cages and nothing like their environment. All in all it was a great disappointment that the would treat these animals like this. In the evening we went for a walk and did a bit of ...

... Secondly the scenery on the way there and back was fantastic and thirdly the waterfalls are half in China and half in Vietnam. I actually went to Vietnam today and had a beer. They were all at risk of being hit by crazy drivers. ...

Spent 2 days in Yangshuo, 1 night in Xingping, and 2 night in Guilin, before taking the train to Nanning; and then the sleeper train from Nanning to Hanoi. Great Hostel - Yangshuo 11 - with fantastic views forms it's roof. Swam in the Li River and visited the markets. Took the bus to Xingping - a smaller, less touristy village upstream on the Li River. Explored the farming village across the river by ferry. Guilin was big and bustling, but not half as bad as ...

    A tttttiny little mishap

A travel blog entry by julieserroul on Apr 10, 2014

... experience, right? At least I hope so. After 28 hours, we were undoubtedly SO excited to get off that train.

While we were in China, we experienced that babies/toddlers normally don’t wear diapers, their onesies have no bum covering and they put the child over the sewer, or many times, the sidewalk and let it go. How that works is beyond me. While at a market we noticed a child defecating into a plastic ...
