Charles and Sam both had bad China days.

Charles's day was going well until he met Bessie to get the voice recorder he'll have to use for his exams, the first of which are tomorrow morning. Charles was teaching at Jingjiang College when Bessie texted to say he could pick up the recorder.

... I ate cheese and crackers with dijon mustard, olives, and pickles.

I realized yesterday that we can get more western things here than I first thought. In Zhenjiang, we can get all the items I had for dinner in the international sections of our local grocery stores, and in Shanghai, we can get pretty much everything imaginable. Charles wants to take a trip to Shanghai next weekend just to buy western food. I'm totally on board.
