... leave. I have managed pretty well without but it is a bit of a pain. I can manage the distance OK even though it's a bit blurry and the close-up is fine; it seems to be the mid-range which is the worst like reading labels in museums or looking at things in shops. After getting the glasses sorted we made our way to HK Island this morning. There is a new Ferris wheel down near the ferry terminal so we decided to go up and have a look. It's not as big ...

... was delayed and we had very little time to make our connection. Cue the three of us running through train stations to pick up tickets with only 20 minutes to our train and only getting through security as our train was announced for boarding. Lena bought a fake Jimmy Choo handbag which bought us a bit of time under the cover of a lady's shop but then we ran to find the others who were a few stalls ahead after she told us the rain would carry on for 24hours and we didn't really want to stay under a market stall all night. Drenched, we found the others who had befriended a drunk Indian man with the strangest laugh I ever heard. Charlie being the biggest fan of India found the whole ...

... proud. We had lunch at DeliFrance, a quick look at the beach, then caught a taxi home. So it was a good day - Terry didn't get too hot and I didn't buy too much.

Late in the afternoon it rained, a short, sharp shower, but unlike at home, it didn't cool things down. We asked the owner of the flat about garbage, and she told us to take it with us when we go out, and put it in bin on the street. No household recycling here.

Hopefully we are going to Macau tomorrow.

... t realize what's good about it until you leave it. When I was going to university there, all I could focus on were its problems. When I left and matured a bit, I realized that, like the overbearing parent, a lot of what it does benefits us Americans more than we appreciate. We complain about it while there and when we leave (sometimes), we complain about what the host country lacks that America has. Some of us leave the country permanently, seeing that life outside of ...
