... was smelly, messy work! The workers were all curious about this group of ladies snapping photos of them as they worked. Most ignored us and kept to their task. Some stopped, smiled and showed us the insides of the mussel with all the pearls inside. A young woman we saw had the task of shoveling the leftover shells into a truck where they would be ground and made into fertilizer or feed we were told. I think any of the tasks we saw could be featured on one of those reality shows ...

Barely took any photos in Hangzhou as it ****** it down most of the time we were there but here are a few. Hangzhou isn't much of a wintery place really as most of the activities are based around the lake. We attempted to walk around it on my birthday but got soaked through so went to a silk museum instead. I told you it was three wet and wild girls let loose in China...We made up for the ****** weather by going for some real nice food at a restaurant called Grean Tea restaurant though. ...

... booked for me just opposite his company. It is cheap, cramped and a bit dirty, but at least I have a place where I can briefly escape from the masses of the great unknown outside while I adjust to the huge difference in culture and surroundings. I still feel uncomfortable walking into a restaurant by myself, knowing that I won't know where to sit, or what to order and what the procedure for paying is. You take all these things for granted at home.

... one contestant to pick her because viewers would donate money for him to buy her a BMW. It is a little ridiculous but a fun way to learn new adjectives. We learned a great phrase for tall, wealthy and handsome as well as white, wealthy and beautiful. We even learned the phrases for a person obsessed with money and a woman looking to marry an older man to support her. It is a strange show but pretty funny.

... sales women wouldn't let her buy it because it was not her size and kept taking the dress away from her. The second time was when I walked into what I thought was a bag shop and started trying to pick them up and asking the price before realizing it was a shoe shine/repair shop. Next we went back to the hotel and had pizza hut for dinner. It was nice to finally have some free time. ...
