    ... building with no elevators. To my surprise, even with the simplicity of our furniture, I was more than satisfied with our living quarters. The former attendant, Donald, was kind enough to leave us his spare belongings and other living materials.

    Overall, after a 24 hour journey to get to my end destination, my body is beat, but I'm more than content as I sit here with beer in hand on my first night in China.

    ... having them here - I really liked having people to talk to at
    home, as it's not like I can have conversations with my neighbours yet.

    We had also been very lucky with the weather - it was quite warm, but not unbearable, and after the cold of NZ very welcome. Apart from the rain on Friday it was dry, but I was sorry that there were no thunderstorms, as they are very impressive. Maybe next visit...
