The game proceeded as everyone had expected. Us all sucking.
But it was good in that we all sucked together. This made mini golf a lot more
interesting. I still came in last in my respective group, but, the scores were
such that no blew anybody away. It was still a close game as Zac bested us in
our little group of three.
Aside from mini golf, another positive coming from the game
was the pizza. Part of the deal was pizza ...
... and the Dad of one of them was joining in as well - I even got an invitation to their home, but am not allowed under my contract. A pity, as they were really nice...
Autumn is now in full swing - trees leaves are changing colour, and we get several days/nights in a row where the temp drops to low-mid 20's, then it goes back up to high 20's-early 30's. the intense heat has gone, as has most of the humidity, so its rather nice. Long may it continue!

Playing football on a normal basis has lifted my spirits. It’s filled a needed gap and I am all the more happier for it. As an added plus, getting to know the guys better also doesn’t hurt. So now when I go out, to the club or anywhere, it’s nice to see some familiar faces. In addition, I’ve just signed up for this world cup tournament ...
... they often never learn to swim, and if the family doesn't own a bike, you don't learn how to ride. So many things that we kiwi's take for granted....
Only 9 weeks now till I'm back for a contract break. The time seemed to go really slowly when I first arrived here, but the more I see of GZ the more I like it - just as well, since I've agreed to do another year!
... dinner. The restaurant was across the street and the food was exactly what I needed after a full match. We had goose, dumplings, porridge, tofu and bunch of vegetables. The meal hit the spot and lessoned the blow of losing as we sat joking around the table. A perfect way to end the night.
