    ... spicy, however the duck was mostly bones, Angela says that it how they do it here. There was also some kind of mystery meat slices…Spam!! Nope, unless I am starving then no spam for me. They seem to like Spam here as I have seen it in a few dishes since. The rest was great.

    Sanya - Haikou - Behai

    Its the first part of the none flight travel to Vietnam.
    As I tried to find out how to get to Vietnam without flying and I couldn't get any good infos, I will describe our experience here for others.
    First of all until today there is NO FERRY FROM HAINAN TO VIETNAM !!! The only direct way by boat is to book a place on a cruise ship which is about 300 US$ ...

    wharf. Her classmates name was Yuan. He was a prison guard about an hour’s drive from his home. If you could think of stereotypical prison guard, Yuan was the farthest thing from it.

    ... ate crab from the shell too. Belinda had to show Gene and I how to eat it. You just pry the shell open and pick out the meat. Surprisingly there was just a little bit in each one. Yuan is a police officer who works in a prison. Gene was asking him questions about his job, so he told us. The prisoners are in there for violent acts they committed. They all work in factories and learn skills in prison so they can get a job when they are released. Gene asked him how many prisoners ...

    ... The ocean was roaring in the background and fireworks were shot off. It was quit an evening. Thanks Belinda and Harry.

    The streets are filled with people, mostly eating. The cuisine is a lot different here than in Liuzhou. It is not as spicy. The island gets by on growing food and tourism. There were big trucks lined up for blocks waiting to fill up with fruits and vegetables that will be shipped to the northern part of mainland China.
