It seems a lot of what we replicate is of British tea origin (with a tea bag and tea set). In China, they have tea trays with many tiny cups for filling and different servers for each step in the pouring process. It is about getting the most out of your tea and sharing it with others. Our train didn't leave until 10 pm - because my colleague had to teach a class until 5. We decided to take the slow train and sleep the whole way to Beijing and arrive rested early Sat morning.

... food on for us to eat. Once the principal arrived - the eating and drinking began. When I say drinking, I mean serious drinking of some serious stuff. They told us it was white wine - called bijou sp? - but it was more like a hard liquor. I suspect that it was made from rice. We also had some Chinese beer and red wine. The Chinese beer only has 3.5% alcohol - thank god. I think our hosts just wanted to get us wasted, because ...
