Going to see my mom in New York hoping for a good time.

Mom and I went to Food Lion and stocked up on, well, mainly cheese. It was such great weather I told her we needed to take the dog somewhere different to walk. All I could manage to convince her to do was to go down the highway to the Veterans’ Memorial Park. It’s basically a paved circular walkway. It wasn’t wonderful, but at least we weren’t sitting in the house watching the food channel!!

One of the highlights of my visits with Mom is the welcome I get from "our" dog, Beau. We adopted Beau from the Greeensboro animal shelter on one of my trips to NC. They had named him "Pug" and at the time we thought he did have a little pug face. He's sort of grown out of that, although his nose is smushed in and his mouth is too small for the number of teeth he has. He as overcome some behavioral ...

Packed up and headed out around 5 pm, a full 5 hours afer my original departure time. Oh well, departure days are generally hectic. Daily sesh then headed out to scoop Ryan up. Met up with Christa and Sumner, equipped Betsy (my car) with a roof bag, and headed down to the beach for a picture together. Standing with our feet in the Atlantic Ocean, we snapped the shot and headed out for the open road.

... its former state (i.e. tan 1970's microwaves). The fun part (or at least initially) was realizing that all of the rooms had themes. Our room was the Demon Deacon room. The Demon Deacon is the mascot for Wake Forest, which was literally right down the road from us. So, it was exciting to find out everyone's theme, including our and the Arnold Palmer room. The downside... the Demon Deacon is a creepy creepy figure. There he was in a huge poster ...

It was sad to tell all everyone good bye yesterday but I have all these new friends in Texas now.

Tonight I get to sleep in my own bed with Roger! Roger so graciously lets me leave him behind to take care of ...

Tomorrow is another big day - I leave for Texas and the Lone Star Circle of Life Tour.

This trip was really fun. I really liked actually working on the house and had a great group to work with. I met a lot of really cool people and had a great week. The amount of change in the house was amazing by the time we got done with it. The woman who lived there was a pack rat and had **** all over the place. There were coupons that expired 7 years before in her house haha. But we cleaned up most of the place and redid the entire living room and crawlspace.
