... délicieux...Comme on pouvait l'imaginer, Sung et Otilia n'on pas voulu que nous prenions le bus et on fait le taxi à l'autre bout de l'ile pour nous amener a l'aéroport. Notre dernière soirée sur les iles a été excellente grace à eux. A quelques heures du décollage on pechait sur la plage, de quoi profiter au maximum des dernieres heures! We didn't touch down till the early hours of the morning, we were both excited about warm weather that neither of us were too tired. For our first two nights we stayed in a beautiful place called 'Hidden Gardern' in the islands capital Apia, a selection of huts surrounded by a dense tropical garden. Sunday, August 27, 2006 We are officially volunteers now. On Wednesday the 23rd we went back to Vaie'e for our swearing in. It was in a nice fale behind the church. The ladies had decorated it with branches and flowers. It was attended by members of our host families and others in the village, the Member of Parliament responsible for the ministry we work for, the American Charge de Faire and PC staff and volunteers. I guess I have quite a bit of updating to do. Vic and I were able to make it home for the holidays-we caught Thanksgiving and stayed until after the New Year. So, Manuia Tausaga Fou (Happy New Year!) to everyone. It was an awesome trip and I am glad we were able to do it. October 5, 2003 This past week has been a great week. On Monday I spoke with another diabetic patient and his wife. It went okay, but as my language improves I will be able to relay the information better. I try my best, but sometimes I am left disappointed and frustrated with myself that I can't communicate better. It's even more frustrating when we both have a look of confusion on our faces.
