... but he clarified by asking for '30% for luck'. Surely what had kept his car from hitting anything was a little more than 30%. Anyhow for fear of sounding an annoyed Brit abroad, I have one more gripe on Kuta Beach, Denpasar. Walking down the Main Street was similar to walking in the countryside as a kid (stay with me here). I remember walks in Kent when, trudging through thickets that indicated a veering from the ...

... Got back on the bus for a trip further up the hills to the set off point. Arrived at point two 15 mins later, at just on 9am. Fitted for helmets life jackets and handed a paddle we were led out and sorted into groups. This company (today at least) had 25 boats on the water. ... there it's all second hand but... Liz chilled at the pool before heading to the arts market for her cooking course. Which actually turned out to be a private lesson! After learning about the ingredients they made a chicken curry dish and probably something with rice and noodles knowing them lot! They then left Liz to enjoy her feast in peace. Ever the conscientious student Liz took notes as she went along so we look forward to trying some back at home! Hannah and Alice's day ...

... with me and we chatted for quite a while. Hurrah, things were looking up! However my feelings were soon dashed as I got nearer to Kuta! Horrible, dreadful place. Full of drunks on the beach, on the paths and fights going on, Bali people that spoke with an Australian accent and were loud and "in my face" and I just couldn't believe the behaviour of the tourists! Certainly not my sort of place, so I walked straight back! when I returned to Gong ...
