I Totally did not Predict a Riot

I stayed last night on the roof of the Citadel hostel near the Jaffa Gate and Tower of David at the southwest end of Jerusalem, which I'd passed by on the way to the Armenian Quarter my previous visit into town.

From atop the roof you get an incredible view of the city, and the back alley by the hostel leads to stairs ...

... from the top, where the water just below the waterfall was over my head. The water temperature was perfect … cool, but comfortable.

Not surprisingly, the hike back down took us about half the time, and would have been even faster, but for all the late risers who were now thronging the park and making their up the narrow path along the Nachal. About half way down I heard someone asking his companions if they had seen the Shafan Sela – dessert hare ...

Opinions

... Jerusalem in search of answers but left with more questions than answers.

Shona: It is hard to have a realistic opinion of Israel in the short amount of time we have spent here. Most of my thoughts are conflicted, there is not an easy solution to any of the troubles. Most of the information my opinion is based on is through other people I have talked with, rather than my own experiences. However I know I have felt more out of place here than I have ...

... office that I had accosted yesterday morning. They all turned out to be believers in Yeshua! These folks had had something special about them I has recognized without them having a Jesus sticker hanging around their neck. Lord, I pray for strength and power for the believers here that they will be salt and light to the people of Jerusalem. I also had a extensive talk with a young man who used a calculator and had visions letting him know ...

Jerusalem Syndrome

... to make us go to midnight mass this year was passed up on the infallible argument that we were a little sleepy.

For someone like me, seeing demonstrations of religious conviction alone is something foreign enough to justify the exorbitant price of flights to Israel. Though I grew up among many who were strong Christians, they were quiet about their faith, only making a point of it on Sundays, or perhaps during grace. It was enough to live it. Yet ...

Basic Army Training: Jerusalem/Breaking Distance

... about the Jewish identity and making aliyah, we had a clear view of the Dome of the Rock mosque. I had never before seen the entire building in this way, from the golden dome to the beautiful patterns running along the side to the entire plaza itself. The guide also took us to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the holiest site in Christianity. Most of the other soldiers, it seemed, had never been inside before and were quite interested in seeing the spot where Jesus was crucified ...

The Romans made a big huge ramp that went all the way up the mountain so that they could bring there battering ram up to the doors. It took them 10 years. They succeeded in bringing down the doors. The Jews had a to choose to either kill themselves ...

WALKING TOUR OF JERUSALEM

... one at a time. We didn't know exactly where we were, but afterwards found out this the rock of Calvary where Jesus was crucified, died and then was taken down from the cross and laid on the stone on the floor below us, with the tomb not far from there. We walk around and look at all the little churches in this very beautiful church. We found this site excellent for details on the Church here. http://www.sacred-destinations.com/isra el/jerusalem-church-of ...
