Sand surfing fun

... and so we decided to have prawns grilled and caipirinahas with tropical friuts such as passion fruits and pinapple. We headed home just before the sun set. The next day we have a long journey onward to Lencios and thankfully our hostel owner sorted us out with a cheaper alternative to getting there as most agencies are charging high rates as it has to be done in a 4wd. An early start at 6.30am but Lencios is meant to be amazing! Let hope so.

Days 38-41 Sand, Wind, and Surf by Carolyn Sauck

... cool ocean breeze... it was beautiful! Our server was home for a couple of months after living in Memphis, TN for 2 years to learn English. It's interesting to see how many tourists settle down to live in this paradise while the villagers looked to travel and live elsewhere. It's hard to imagine why they would want to leave. After admiring the brightest stars we have ever seen from the ...

... It was. She had been got pregnant by a Dutchman, who had then returned to Holland and set about proving exactly how elusive it is possible to be when separated from someone by thousnads of miles of ocean. How was she earning? She wasnt. Simple as. Luckily the people who owned the restaurant-pousada we were sat in had taken pity on her and were feeding her. I was shocked, in ...

... to take the short cut, the 500 km drive due west along BR 304 through the interior of Rio Grande do Norte state. It is a very arid area and the vibrant green of the huge sugar cane estates to the south quickly gave way to a bleak and dusty landscape, dotted with cacti and cashew trees. After the oil town of Mossoró, we left the main highway and headed north to the smaller coastal road, eager to find the sea-breezes again to alleviate the stifling ...

Paracuru

Fishing village just outisde Forteleza (about two hours!) Was in my new French friends guidebook but doesn´t even feature in the English book, so very few tourists! Have just found the time here so incredibly chilled, I´m feeling just about as incredibly relaxed as I could possibly imagine! For a start, the pousada where we´re staying is by far the nicest place I´ve stayed in Brazil (you should have seen some of the other places Mum!) The beach is within a few minutes ...
