... 2.3 km to go...how bad could it be? Well, I'm not gonna lie, it sucked. I say this not to dissuade anyone from making the climb, by just to make the point that it wasn't. Now, I consider myself some kind of athlete, and there are those of you out there that will laugh at this statement and your chuckling is not without some merit, but when there is an 80 year old "ajaman" (grandmom) passing you on the stairs, it is pretty emasculating. Let's just say I left part of my ...
Jeju City, Jeju Island, Korea Rep. jknoff22... stabilizers for a while now, I'll have you know!) "what your mobile number here?" what here? I dont have a mobile ***very grave shocked silence acompanying the fact that I am techologically without*** then a very desicive; "um, no good... you very little cycle technique...you no know the island...no phone...you no change break tyre...I think you take the bus" and just like that I was sent packing to the bus stop with all plans for a cycle tour in ruins.
Jeju City, Jeju Island, Korea Rep. snakey... just off the coast, connected to the mainland by bridge. Nothing to write home about but I was just there to catch the ferry over to JEJU-DO which is where the FUN was had! They call it the Korean Hawaii, and I can see why... The views were just looooooooooovely. Lots of pretty waterfalls, mountains in the background and just gorgeous beaches with crystal clear waters. Settling in for three nights which meant I could ...
Seogwipo, Jeju Island, Korea Rep. vivtongI have settled into my hostel in Seogwipo. Jeju Hikers Inn is just down the street from the German owned dive shop that I went out with yesterday. I urge all SCUBA inclined travelers in Jeju to stop by Big Blue 33. Ralph is highly professional and his love for diving is apparent ...
Seogwipo, Jeju Island, Korea Rep. justinoxxii... has an abundance of unusual fauna and flora. A spotted a few tiny little Roe deer foraging on the forest floor. One bolted off as soon as it saw me, the other one just carried on eating, I watched it for a round ten minutes until I lost sight of it. Staying in Jeju-si city tonight which is the capital of Jejo before heading back to Seoul tomorrow afternoon by plane.
Jeju City, Jeju Island, Korea Rep. christospJeju is popular among Korean honeymooners. When I heard it, I imagined it as an island like Hawaii, because Japanese honeymooners often go to Hawaii or Guam. I was not interested in the beautiful beaches, although I prefer mountains or caves. And I found Jeju island was just for me! There are also a few UNESCO's World Natural Heritage sites even in the small island. I had a great time in the island from the begining to end. On the first day, My mom and I flew to Jeju by ...
Seogwipo, Korea Rep. sabinekim... towels, toys, or anything else your kitschy heart desires. The caves of Kosu-dongul are definitely amazing feats of nature, and make the trip to Danyang instantly worth it. However, it's hard to stop and admire nature's wonder with a never-ending stream of tourists behind you. The mentality in there seemed to be "bbali-bbali, and keep it moving!" But don't worry, there are spots to stop and get that beautiful picture. There are people all along the way set up to take a Polaroid of ...
Jeju Island, Korea Rep. tobiah... live and practice Shamanism. Along with that are the fresh sea-foods and the market places, then add the amazingly beautiful coastal drive. Cheju-do really is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. But then again, I was in a car and had a beautiful Hawaiian girl from Korea! One of my most memorable travel experiences! Abalone fishing on your private beach! Unbelievable!
Cheju-do, Korea Rep. eddakath... I finally rose to let them know I was up and getting ready. Not only was it storming in my brain but my stomach had become an inferno of both kimchee and rice wine. I wasn't in a good way! When Mr IIho told me that the ferries had been cancelled I tried to let out a happy Hip Hip Hooray but only managed a small whimper. He also looked a little green around the gills but compared to me he was an extra strength vitamin tablet! As he ...
