... trails. There are also zip-wires and also some rather strange plastic
manmade tunnel kind of things laid across the ice to which I have no idea what
they are.
Looking North from this viewpoint is yet another large mountain which is
much higher than where we are standing. I think this is Mount Monch which has
its peak at 4107m. From here it looks large enough but a few hundred feet below

Armed with sandwiches, cameras, and water we planned for about five hours of hiking. To save money on trains, we planned a circuit that required us to take the train to Wengen, and we would walk from there. The whole circuit was split into three separate hikes. One from Wengen to Mannlichen, Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg, and back down to Wengen. To get to Wegen, we took a train to Lauterbunnen, the main town in the valley. The next train took us one town higher into the ...

Another tiny mountain town

... a great community feeling!). Though the plan was to have it for lunch, we arrived too early at our hostel to check in, and ended up buying lunch on a patio to fill our time (at 12$, it was expensive, but compared to the previous 20€ paella mistake, it could have been worse). Dinner and hopefully lunch on the train tomorrow! Stopped in to see trummelbach falls, en route to lauterbunnen, definitely a beautiful natural attraction! Then followed a ...
