So. Today we once again started a little late...again.
But it had nothing to do with the fact that we were up late supporting the local winery.... erm

... the border the road became dead straight, and rough. So rough that some wag had installed a large sign "Shake your body - for the next 5 km". Driving into Verviers it was obvious that we were no longer in Germany - old, scruffy, and folk of every nationality wandering about. Even the town centre didn't look very appealing, so we decided to press on to Spa, home ...
... a walk around looking at all the different cows, there were Belgian ones, German ones and Swiss ones, a couple of baby ones and big ones. We also picked plums and raspberries from the trees and made a tart when we got home. The tart had the butter from the farm and eggs from Louise’s hens!! Something I really wanted to do.

Tonight is football night. Belgium has the best team they’ve had in the last 30 years, so it’s big business at the moment. They are currently in playoffs for the European League. A friend of theirs joins us for aperols, beers and dinner for the evening.
