In spite of terrible start the location could not have been better. Close to the Ramblas, the tour bus and good restaurants. Comfortable room, reasonable continental breakfast and friendly staff.

All good things must end, and in truth, we were ready, I think, for the normality of life to return. However, due to flight arrangements, we still had a tour and one day and night in Barcelona before we flew home.

Morning started early, as we had to be in the theater at 7:30 to wait for our cruise ship tour to Montserrat. Our two big bags …

Arrived BCN international around 9:30. Sue and Ron got in a bit before 11. Taxied into the Jazz Hotel, freshened up and headed out walking. Headed down Las Rambles. Beautiful weather with temps in the 60s and bright blue sky.

Hopped on the first Barcelona City Touristic at 9 am and rode it to the La Sagrada Familia. Impressive structure that's been underway since 1882, and still many years to go (estimated to be completed in 2026). Huge crowds visiting here and the entry fees are helping to fund the construction.

... out the window the whole way.

Lucy finally lost her wiggly tooth today, and the EU tooth fairy will make a visit tonight. I'm expecting that unlike our rather high-end tooth fairy in Australia (which sprinkles fairy dust and leaves chocolate coins in addition to cold, hard cash) this one will be more of a camping fairy. Big question on Lucy's mind is whether the fairy will bring AUD or Euros.
